It was a rare moment, indeed! Fifty thousand teen-aged school students from across Bhubaneswar and periphery sang the national song, ‘Vande Mataram’ in OUAT stadium at 8.30 in the morning of December 12, 2017 in the second ‘Voice of Unity programme’ of the ‘Initiative for Moral & Cultural Training Foundation, Odisha’. Major General G.D.Bakshi (SM, VSM) instilled patriotism into thousands, present at the venue through his fiery speech.
Recounting his days in defence forces he advised the school going students to learn from the martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of our mother land. Major Dhal Samant, the other guest urged the children to make a career in Indian army so that their lives will be at the service of motherland.
He administered the oath of patriotism to the students. In the meeting, presided over by the foundation’s president of Odisha chapter, Dr Bimalendu Mohanty, working president, Shri Murali Manohar Sharma hinted at the Hindu Spiritual & Service Fair (HSSF) to be held during the 19th to the 22nd of this month in the exhibition ground, Bhubaneswar. Shri Sharma expressed his satisfaction over the grand success of the initiative of IMCTOD. All India President of HSSF, Shri Gunwant Singh Kothary appealed all to do or die for the country. Researcher and scholar, Shri Anil Dhir, social worker and the general secretary of IMCTOD, Dev Prasad Mishra and the volunteers of the foundation coordinated the event. Renowned musician, Guru Manmath Mishra and his troops presented nationalistic numbers at the beginning and the ace Olywood actor, Shri Ashrumochan Mohanty compered the whole affair.
