There is a lot of talent in India that unfortunately goes unnoticed due to lack of opportunities. With the release of #Likeedreams initiative, Likee, the pioneering global short video creation platform from Singapore based BIGO Technology, ascertains that talented youth have a medium to showcase their talent. As part of such this venture, Likee is helping Gladson Peter, a one-man band from Mumbai, to get the due recognition he deserves.
Gladson Peter was diagnosed with a lung disorder – Pleural Effusion, and as a result, the doctors told him that he would not be able to play any musical instrument due to the water in the lungs. But he decided to change his destiny and follow his passion for music. Slowly and steadily, Peter started playing multiple instruments simultaneously.
Today, he is the first and only one-man band in India that can play 13 instruments together, creating beautiful melodies. It took him a lot of patience, complete dedication and hard work to bring back music into his life. Not only did he have to coordinate playing multiple instruments but also create a band station that he carried with him for his performance. His band station is highly customized and weighs more than 25 kgs. Throughout the process, Gladson kept changing the design of the band station to fit in more instruments and make it even more compact. His innovative band station and unique talent draws instant attention of passers-by. Under the #Likeedreams initiative, Gladson also uploads his music videos, live performances and journey story on Likee to further expand his reach to people and inspire them to never give-up on their dreams. #Likeedreams lauds the grit and determination of this talented young man and decided to bring out his story to the public, so he gets the recognition that he deserves.
Likeedreams is a Likee’s Creator Academy initiative that has been inspired by the government’s Skill India campaign. It is a platform to reach out to talented Likee users and hone their video-making skills. The Academy has already completed three seasons of this kind of training. Now it is in Season 4, where #Likeedreams plans to reach out to select talented users and train them in professional video making skills. It plans to use Likee’s new function of long-format video for this venture.
Through this endeavour, Likee hopes to motivate talented youth to chase their dreams and follow their passion, even if they do not have the means to do so. Available in different Indian languages such as Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam and Punjabi; Likee app provides the most extensive and innovative tools to users to create dynamic and engaging videos.
Like Peter, #Likeedreams is working with many other talented people of society and helping them inch closer to their dreams. Over the coming months, it will share many videos of such creative geniuses to inspire others.
