AROH Foundation, leading national NGO organized several events to commemorate 150 years of Mahatma Gandhi and his philosophy on his birth anniversary on 2nd October.
Aligning with the thoughts of the Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji, the Foundation remembered Mahatma Gandhi and offered “Karyanjali” as a Shraddhanjali to its development project site across various villages of Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya, Uttrakhand, Odissa, Bihar and Delhi NCR.
At HDFC supported HRDP’s “Parivartan “in Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh & Meghalaya, workshops and cleanliness rallies & drives were conducted to increase awareness about Gandhiji and his idea of simple living and high thinking. Additionally, an open meeting with the Panchayat and youth was organized, nukkad natak were conducted, and oath was taken, motivating the people to restore peace, hygiene and integrity within all sects. Special guests Mr Haribhan Singh rathore (SO, Binavar), Mr.Promod sharma (RM, HDFC bank), Mr. Deshpal Solanki (SLI, HDFC Bank) present during Karyanjali at village Binavar in Budaun district uphailed the selfless work done by HDFC Bank and AROH Foundation towards development, health, hygiene, education, women empowerment & ensuring equality and invoked people towards hygienic living in coherence with nature and humans.
AROH also joined hands with WAPCOS to mark the occasion by cleaning of Chhath Ghats and nearby tourists’ vicinities at Yamuna River in Delhi as a step towards Jal Shakti Abhiyan. Programmes were organized to increase awareness of simple living and strong faith in the power of truth and nonviolence. Special impetus has been given to Gandhiji’s lessons, which are more relevant than ever before and are imbibed in every policy of the country, form Swacch Bharat Mission to the rights of women and children, and of civil liberties of small and disadvantaged groups, to the health and well-being of the Indian farmer.
The Foundation also conducted cleanliness drives & workshops at AICL supported RISE centres in Delhi & at Govt of India’s flagship project sites of DDU-GKY centres in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha, whereas in Jhansi, covering of the park and the road of Jhansi Fort was done and in Odisha, covering the Khandagiri and Udaygiri tourist area was done. Children and Youth were also made aware about their fundamental rights and duties. Addressing the staff and beneficiaries at its Noida Centre, Dr. Neelam Gupta (founder, AROH Foundation) said, “Gandhiji has taught the nation the principles of existing peacefully and cordially with ourselves and our peers. The five pillars of non-violence, i.e. respect, understanding, acceptance, appreciation and compassion have guided us so far since independence and will continue to lead us. These guiding principles are the core of our nation’s culture and values and must be upheld now and in the future.”
