Young Indians Gurugram organises Health Check Camp

When it comes to health, it is a known fact that a body that moves, plays, runs around is always full of energy which it absorbs from the environment. And when it comes to children’s health, what better way to get them to exercise than to play around! It not only helps build a healthy body, but also gifts them with a sound mind and propels them to develop a sense of team spirit & inclusive leadership. Sounds like a perfect recipe for future leaders! And future leadership is exactly what Young Indians is all about!

For the uninitiated, Young Indians (YI) is a movement for Indian Youth to converge, lead, co create & influence India’s future. YI is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).The Health Vertical of the YI Gurugram chapter is led by Devir Singh Bhandari & under his able leadership, YI Gurugram organized a ‘health check camp’ for the 100 plus children residing at the Don Bosco orphanage.

The health vertical of Young Indians has always been very active in the sphere of promoting children’s health. They echo the sentiment that “the youth brings the biggest promise of success to India. Their health is the health of the nation. And that is why our latest endeavor is to organize this health check camp for the 100 children who have found a loving home at the Don Bosco Orphanage. It was a comprehensive health camp which included a general health check up by the respected Dr Vijay & an ENT check by the renowned Dr. Vivek Taneja, MBBS, M.S E.N.T.”

The primary focus of YI is to build tomorrow’s leaders, with an emphasis on thought leadership. Father Edward who is incharge of the Don Bosco Ashalayam leads by example & the children look up to him, given the unconditional love & inspirational discipline with which he takes care of them. Father Edward was happy to observe that this time around, the health vertical of YI Gurugram took things a notch further. The doctors not only conducted health checks, but also had interactive sessions with the children.

This was followed by a distribution session of sports goods which touched the right chord with the children and kids were immediately seen hitting the field and making full use of merchandise given to them! The Gurugram chapter of YI is chaired by Rohit Maheshwari & co chaired by Akshay Maheshwari. The Northern region health chair is Navreet Singh Sehgal.
