If you ask his followers online, they know him as a storyteller. But if you dig deeper, many will say he helped them overcome a problem at home or work, many will say he just lent an ear, but the only one to lend an ear in their moment of emptiness.
Who is Nijo Jonson?
Now famous for his motivational videos, Nijo Jonson once started off his journey making corporate videos. From there he moved to viral videos and eventually found his calling in helping people through inspiring stories online.
Nijo Jonson, is quite popular for his motivational videos on Facebook. The kind of motivational videos he is creating is helping a lot of people in their everyday life. Millions of views are evident enough to get a sense of the influence of his videos. However, the journey, from corporate videos to viral videos and presently storytelling was not that easy, as keeping himself determinant while facing obstacles was way more difficult than he expected.
What made his followership half a million strong?
Storytelling might be a new thing for Nijo’s followers but for him it was a part of his to-do list since a very young age. As he saw the right moment, he plunged into the ocean of storytelling.
Seeing people discontented with their lives, he decided to give inspirational videos a try and released his very first motivational video “How To Start Following Your Dreams” on Facebook. The viewership did not reach the altitudes, but he received tremendous response from people through messages, requesting him to keep making such videos. That is when he realised there is much more to what seems on the surface – every second person on the Internet is looking for a respite in things that would take them away from their everyday problems. But Nijo hit the spot by helping them solve those problems. And the number of audiences who connected with his purpose was gigantic. Today, he not just has an amazing number of views on his videos, but people communicate with him personally to discuss their problems, which helps him make better, more relatable videos that helps even more people. It has barely been a year since he has started making these videos and he has already garnered more than 500,000 followers on Facebook with 75,000 on Instagram, all waiting for him to release a video each Friday.
When Nijo was asked about the risk of feeding the new type of content to the audience that he had never shared before, he said, “I believe, every content has its journey with a number of challenges. The overwhelming response of my viewers keeps motivating me to continue creating more.” According to him it’s just a beginning of a new chapter and half the book is still unwritten.
