Every year, millions of people across the country come together to celebrate Goddess Durga during Durga Puja. Observed between 6 to 10 days, Durga Puja consists of significant ceremonies such as Shashti Puja, which marks the beginning of Durga Puja, Sandhi Puja held at the juncture between Ashtami and Navami Tithi as well as Sindur Khela where women smear each other with sindur on Vijayadashami. However, Durga Puja will be celebrated in a very different manner this year. With social distancing restrictions and concerns around safety and hygiene, the traditionally communal ceremonies will be virtual in 2020. Bearing this in mind, Shemaroo Entertainment, India’s leading content powerhouse, has partnered with the iconic 21 Pally Durga Puja, Kolkata to ensure that devotees can celebrate Durga Puja digitally.
One of the biggest organizers in Kolkata for Durga Puja, which counts West Bengal’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as one of its prominent guests, the 21 Pally Durga Puja is completing 73 years of celebrating the festival this year. Every year, during the puja Pushpanjali is offered every seventh, eighth and ninth evening after the Bhog Aarti of Goddess Durga. Starting October 22, 2020 to October 27, 2020, Shemaroo will live stream the ceremonies from the 21 Pally Durga Puja in Kolkata.
Viewers can watch the Live darshan from the safety of their homes on Shemaroo platforms, including Shemaroo Me, Shemaroo Bhakti Mobile App and Shemaroo Bhakti YouTube as well as on mobile telecom operators.
