We hope this can inspire you to become a successful entrepreneur too! Why is it important to hear the story of a successful entrepreneur?
Having the vision to become an entrepreneur is great. Making it happen is another story!
In that frame, we had the pleasure to interview Rajnish Jain, founder of Crossword Public Relation.
1. We are aware of your contribution to the ecosystem, talk us through your background and your journey as an entrepreneur, please;
So I did my studies from Delhi University. During my college days, I was very studious and always enjoyed learning new skills. I worked in the corporate sector for nine years and studied the market and learnt how things work in the corporate sector. From starting itself, I wanted to become an entrepreneur. I was passionate towards my work and started working very hard on my career. I started Crossword Public Relations alone in 2015 without having funding from outside with self funding.
2. What attracts you towards entrepreneurship instead of a corporate career?
I chose entrepreneurship because I always wanted to do something that I own and through that I can bring a change. I have always been intrigued by entrepreneurship and have always been inspired by success stories of all the successful entrepreneurs. You see – It’s fascinating how you build something from the scratch to build an empire around it and not everyone can do it. It takes a lot of hard work, planning, perseverance and also teamwork, combined with good strategy & execution skills. I worked for 9 years in the corporate sector and learnt all the tactics. During my job, I was getting myself prepared to become an entrepreneur and making my strategy for the same.
3. ‘Crossword Public Relations’ is such a unique name; talk us through more about it, please. Our audience would also love to know what kind of problem you are solving with the help of your startup?
The idea or thought behind the name is to make people aware that just like a Crossword puzzle, we solve the puzzle of Marketing and Branding tools like Public Relations, Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing and Crisis Management etc. We started in 2015 with a very less staff and within the timeline we have worked with more than 100 clients & serves in more than 300 cities in India till now. We have been a fore runner in every endeavor and we are basically a 360 degree marketing company.
4. During this COVID-19 crisis, what are the measures you have undertaken to continue your business without disruption?
During COVID, everyone faced problems in their business but we as a team worked with utmost positivity. We were constantly in touch with our clients and made sure that they get best services in these difficult times. We also tried to work one some out of the box ideas and did some unique campaigns for our clients. Off course working remotely wasn’t easy at all but we tried every possible way to eliminate that communication gap internally and externally.
5. How do you manage yourself and keep on going despite the challenges? What drives you?
I always try to make sure that I assign the right people for the right work. This way I do not feel overburdened with work that can lead to stress. In my free time, I try to travel, spend time with my family and try to maintain my work-life balance as much as possible. Travelling helps me clear my mind and focus on issues that need my attention. What motivates me most is to see me and my firm growing and every time I aspire to achieve even more.
6. In your opinion – what is more necessary: Idea or a good team for a successful startup?
In my opinion, it should be a mix of both. Without having a good and experienced team a company cannot survive and with great minds and right team spirit we can create wonders. We have a team that expertise in every profile like Public Relations, Social Media, Business Development, Digital Marketing, Graphic Designing, content writing and event management.
7. You are always positive and motivated, what keeps you going?
Success and failure are a part of everyone’s life and business and the kind of business I am running our failures and success depends on our relationship with our clients and the media. But I wake up with a vision every morning, I start my day with a positive attitude which the most important thing and everyone should do so because for the rest of your day you get that energy and motivation to work. I take challenges as an opportunity and try to overcome that challenge with hard work and a positive mindset.
8. You have launched an yearly award show “The Great Visioners Award Show”, what inspire you?
I always look forward to do something new and demand of the market, I used to think how we can appreciate to the entrepreneurs, Business peoples, influencers etc. So I started “The Great Visioners Awards” to admire achievers and we are just going to host 2nd season in the month of May’2021.

My advice to all those aspiring entrepreneur will be that do not be afraid of trying. You will fall and you will fall again but you have to stand up again and fight back. Also, please don’t be afraid of taking up challenges.
