Today, India’s Largest Nationwide Run “RUN4NIINE”took place at Leisure Valley, Gurgaon to drive menstrual hygiene. The run took place in more than 500 cities in over 20 states in India to break and tackle the stigma of menstruation.
The star-studded flag-off event was attended by Kolkatta Pad Hero Sobhan Mukherjee who took the pioneering step to install vending boxes for sanitary napkins in various pay-and-use toilets in Kolkatta.
The event was held today on 8th March to mark International Women’s day.
Run4Niine was supported by the Pad Man of India, Akshay Kumar was present at the flag off the event in Lucknow. Speaking about his association with Run4Niine, megastar Akshay Kumar said, “Once again, I am excited to be partnering with the Niine Movement to encourage an open and unashamed discussion on menstruation with my fellow citizens, pad heroes, change makers and pathbreakers for the Run4Niine.
Each one of us that takes part in Run4Niine helps to create an unstoppable force that will beat the stigma around periods.”
