An evening was hosted to celebrate the Consular day by Honorary Consular Corps Diplomatique-India.On this occasion Vivek Burman Dabur ( Peace Prize ) was bestowed to Hon’ble Mr. Kailash Satyarthi, Nobel Laureate and Child rights activist and Padma Shri Vikramjit S. Sahney, Founder Sun Foundation.
Dr. Bhai Mohan Singh Trophy was awarded to Mr. Ashish Saraf, Honorary Consulate of Bahamas in New Delhi while Mrs. Surbhi Sharma, Honorary Consulate of Spain in Bengaluru was presented with Consul of the year.
On the occasion Mr. K.L Ganju, o.c.v.c (cdr.), Consul General (Hy.) and Advisor to the Foreign Minister Union of Comoros and President of Honorary Consular Corps Diplomatique-India said that the Hony. Consuls in India are playing a very important role in providing consular services and developing economic and bilateral relations between the sending and the receiving countries.
The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Manish Sisodia, Deputy CM Delhi, while the other names included in the high profile lists were High Commissioners, Ambassadors, Officials of Ministry of External Affairs, Hony. Consul Generals and who’s who of Delhi.
