We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Smt Sushma Swaraj ji. An extraordinary politician who brought empathy to her job, Sushma ji has left an indelible mark as a people’s leader.

“A strong woman, a dedicated leader, an astute politician, a prolific orator, a sensitive individual, Sushma Swaraj has always been an aspiration to each one of us. She was always connected to people. She also took to Twitter to help people. A glorious life has come to an end. But her ideals and inspiration will remain forever.” said Harjinder Kaur Talwar, President of FICCI Ladies Organisation.

Youngest cabinet minister at age 25 in 1977, first-ever woman CM of Delhi, first-ever woman spokesperson in the Bharatiya Janata Party, first-ever woman Leader of Opposition in Parliament, first woman to be given the Outstanding Parliamentarian Award and the first-ever full-time woman External Affairs Minister of the country, Smt. Swaraj has several firsts to her credit and has redefined the course of Indian politics.

“She has left a huge void in Indian politics as well as our hearts,” added Ms Talwar.
