FIR filed against an Instagram account for spreading False and misleading information

An FIR was filed against an Instagram handle @fascismfreeindia for posting false and misleading information and creating unrest between the two harmonious religions and their followers. The FIR was reportedly filed at Parliament Street Police Station on Thursday.

Reportedly, the complaint was filed by two individuals, Vikash Kumar Singh along with Amber Agarwal.

In their complaint, they had told police: “This Instagram account has a following of about 11,200 followers across India and world and is operated using “fascismfreeindia@gmail.com” email address. This account on May 25, 2019 posted a video with caption. Sri Ram Sena is not affiliated to the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party). By relating Sri Ram Sena to BJP, the account “@fascismfreeindia” has spread fake news and misleading information in order to marginalise the image of BJP. The page “@fascismfreeindia” has hurt the sentiments of Hindu community at large and has attempted to cause unrest between the two harmonious religions and their followers.”

 

Reportedly, Vikash Kumar Singh is also co convenor of Delhi BJP IT Cell.
