Ahead of her web series Andekhi, Actress Apurva Soni opens about her Bollywood journey

When asked about one idea that changed her life, Apurva Soni said, “Believe in yourself and be kind to people.” A girl who comes from a jeweler’s family in Rajasthan, barely imagined that her life would head in such a different direction. Gearing up for Andekhi, a web series by Applause Entertainment and directed by Akash. K. Shukla, Apurva Soni has bagged many landmark projects sheerly based on her talent and consistent hard work.

Apurva Soni, who is the face of many top-notch brands in the country like MAC Cosmetics, Myntra, Google Play, Sugar Cosmetics, NYKAA etc. is a huge fan of the Badshah of Bollywood, Shahrukh Khan. Inspired by his humble and hardworking nature, Apurva Soni idolizes him to a great extent. His dedication, determination, and grit to get to his goals is what she keeps learning from him every day.
Traversing through her journey of modeling, she says, ” I was not accepted very graciously by my family and was a victim of relentless bad-mouthing through my peers. However, when I moved from Jaipur to Delhi, there was not only a shift in cities but in the mentality as well. People were more accepting and appreciated me for my qualities and my talent.” Envisaging her career as a model, she took active steps towards shaping her career, starting with a filming course in Bhopal. She hasn’t looked back ever since. Speedily marching onto her path of progress, her belief in herself and her talent has kept her going.

With barely a few people managing to make it to the top of this industry, Apurva has bravely faced any and every odd, coming her way. Being the ambassador for the Lakme Fashion Week and the Amazon Great Indian Festival, she says, “The 21st century has dawned and it is just sad to hear discrimination on the grounds of race, caste, color and religion in the world. People work hard to get to where they want to and shunning them on such grounds is very unfair.”
Having said that, she’s hopeful that this mindset will take a turn for the good and people will be more open towards welcoming newer and fresher talent in the industry. Apurva Soni who recently shot for an ad with Mahindra is extremely thrilled to take up diverse projects in the future. Envisioning her own production house going on floors someday, this 22-year-old is here to make it big!
