Shades of Happiness Foundation, a youth driven non- governmental organisation is organising a fund raising event named “Aadat badlo: Menstruation stigmatized no more” on Sunday, September 14, 2019 at St. Columbas School,1 Ashok Road, New Delhi. This event is being organised to spread awareness on the women menstrual hygiene and to bust the myths regarding the same. The money raised from this event will be used to educate the children of down trodden society. The foundation also offers reusable sanitary napkins to the girls, which can be washed and reused for 18-24 months. These napkins are not only affordable but a perfect solution to the environment problems.
From past four years, SOHF has started a campaign by the name of #365Days365Girls to break the stigma of menstruation. This initiative is intended to empower at least one girl on menstrual health and hygiene on a daily basis to take care of her as well as to be the agent of being a change in her society. They have also started a social media campaign to maximize the reach of their movement and to help maximum number of girls.
Shades of Happiness foundation was founded in December 2008 with an aim to provide basic education and development opportunities to the under privileged children. Youngsters from all the wake of life come together on every Saturday and Sunday at St. Columbus School to teach these children various education subjects and co- curricular activities. In the past ten years of its journey, this foundation has changed lives of many. Life might have been a little unfair to these children but SOHF has given them an opportunity to reshape and recreate their life.
