Asus today launched a new smartphone in the Taiwanese market known as Asus Zenfone Ares. it sounds similar, right? Yes! Asus Zenfone Ares is an updated version of previously launched Zenfone AR. They both still share similar design and specifications.
Asus Zenfone Ares specifications
The Zenfone Ares comes with 5.7-inch QHD display with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. The brand went with the Super AMOLED display having the Tru2Life technology to enable VR experience. Apart from that, the display has an oil-repellent coating which is a nice addition. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage.
Speaking of optics, you’ll get a 23-MP rear camera sensor with a f/2.0 aperture accompanied by Asus high-res PixelMaster 3.0 technology. The triple camera setup is capable of capturing both motion tracking and depth sensing to enable VR experiences. There is an 8-MP selfie shooter at the front of the device with a f/2.0 aperture.
Other specifications include – dual-SIM support, expandable memory up to 2TB, Android Nougat, USB Type C, 3300 mAh battery and fast charging.
Asus Zenfone Ares availability and price
Just like the previous Asus Zenfone AR, this smartphone comes with various VR and AR related features. It also has SonicMaster 3.0 Hi-Res audio.
This smartphone is currently available only in Taiwan and is priced at TWD 9,990 (approx 22,700 INR). It is worth noting that the Asus Zenfone AR was launched in India with a price tag of 49,999 INR. There is no word on whether this smartphone will come in India or not. But, we’ll keep you updated if any development arises in this story.
